'I just wanted to thank you both so much for the great HVT course at the weekend. I came into work today and have already released the OA bilaterally on 3 people (2 x patients both with neck pain and stuck OA;s and 1 x colleague who I had tried to release his OA a month ago without success and managed to do it today with ease) - also did an AA release. I have also released someone's DL and LS today neither of which I would have done last week. Have also been using the MET to anteriorise a patients ilium plus chicago on a different patient so in just one day I have already used a large number of the techniques from the course that I would not normally have used.' STRAIN-COUNTERSTRAIN (POSITIONAL RELEASE) COURSE - Sunday 24th March 2019
@London School of Osteopathy, Grange Road, London

Strain and Counterstrain, also known as positional release technique is a manual therapy technique, that uses passive body positioning of muscles and dysfunctional joints toward positions of comfort or tissue ease. The theory of shortening the tissues is to relax the aberrant reflexes that cause muscle spasms thus reducing the tone in the muscle and calming nociceptive pain in the area. Strain and Counterstrain/Positional Release is an extremely effective but gentle technique when used in the right hands

Strain and Counterstrain / Positional Release has an extremely broad application for physical ailments and a large population of musculoskeletal pain patients. It can be used for both acute and chronic conditions, such as sports injuries, sprains and strains through to osteoarthritis and other chronic conditions.

Course lead Jo Anne Holmden has been teaching on under graduate and post graduate courses for many years, and her passion and experience for Strain-Counterstrain Techniques is second to none. Therefore this course is unmissable for anyone interested in learning more about Strain-Counterstrain / Positional Release techniques.
